Re: EMPIRE RECORDS
June 02, 2003 01:03PM
b/c if I was to quote it, that would imply that I think its "up" there with Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Better off Dead, Ski School and other movies which I quote constantly...

Yes, it certainly has great potential...but I need to see the flick more than once before I start quoting it..

Oh..and Steph?.....The "For Sale" sign is on the car....

i went around the mall today (okay, to start the story off correctly, my friend Emz and i got all gothed up and went to the mall to play with the normals today. it's friday the thirteenth, and we were happily scaring the old people.) and would randomly yell 'it's rex manning day!' people would say something and, being the little eavesdroppers we are *i ain't been dropping any eaves, master frodo!*, we would add in 'but no. we mustn't dwell. not today, not on rex manning day!'
*giggle* how wonderful.

giggle, i was so angry that they cut out Tom Bombadil and Goldberry. they rocked so hard, and it made you wonder even more about the ents. they didn't do ents justice. barrow wights shiver me. i should read it again this summer, but i just restarted the merlin trilogy. *purrs*
i'm such a geek.

too much comedy out of the ents for my liking.

geek

i'm reading Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series right now and i'm in the middle of Stephen King's "Darktower" series AND (and) i may be getting into a Dungeons and Dragons campaign this summer. so don't tell ME about being a geek.

does anyone know why the lyrics for sugarhigh are different on the sound track? or is just so they could make the age rating lower, as well the lyrics are dodgy?

and yea are they any good?or is it their only good song?

okay: i was gone for a week, and missed a helluva lot. sugar high lyrics are different because there are two different songs. they were changed to fit the movie better. if you want to hear the real lyrics, REM did a cover.
my dad had harry potter waiting for me when i got back from indiana. we're *both* geeks.
i just started the first Wheel Of Time book, wierdly enough. my zak made me.
i'm halfway through a merlin trilogy as well. i have three *bigass* books waiting to be purged through my brain. i feel really slow. but that's okay. i read until 2 am every night, and that's as much as i can give without passing out. so meh.
yes. we *are* geeks. and i didn't like the ents in the movie. they didn't seem big or imposing enough. and yes, there was too much comedy. they just plain didn't do enough with them. they were my favorite part of that book. *grumble*
btu anyway. so there. i'm back. =P

hehe i know who dies. not that i read those over-rated books , just someone told me
Re: EMPIRE RECORDS

welcome back

ents weren't very huge. about troll size. not as tall as trees.

WoT i have mixed opinions on. i'm currently on the fourth. it's a very slow read, and of late, the alst 3 or 4 books he's released haven't done anything whatsoever as far as story development (so i've heard.)

generally, nothing really happens until the last hundred pages or so, and seeing as you have to read 600 pages before that, it can be a bit meh. however the end makes you want to continue to read. i'll keep it up in hopes that eventually he starts writing good books again

the first 3 books were quite good, though, overall, and the fourth isn't that bad

however, all the women are the exact same character. and all the innkeepers are the same.

Re: EMPIRE RECORDS

the ents seemed too skinny as opposed to their descriptions, though. i know they weren't like trees. but still. he made them seem like saplings in the movie.
my zak is on book ten of WOT and is still drooling madly. i'm impressed. so, i must read to form an opinion of my own. exactly.
but anyway. i still have to read harry potter. and i know who dies as well.

Re: EMPIRE RECORDS

there's a difference between dungeons and dragons and harry potter, man. namely the fact that i can't sit around a table with my drunk friends pretending that we're fighting zombies and goblins when reading harry potter.

ah, good times

but see you don't have to be drunk to enjoy harrry potter. Well then again you probably would...
Re: EMPIRE RECORDS
June 28, 2003 07:22AM
i really don't like harry potter, not anymore. i have to read to appease my chattering friendlings.
dungeons and dragons, on the other hand, i do. i'm an elf bard with red hair and violet eyes and an amazing rack.
i also didn't design that character. *harrumph*
but i'm with mike on this one. i still need to start wot.
