This is a Call to All Nine Days Fans
May 31, 2003 04:52AM
Let me start with a story. I was playing SHU on my stereo at school when a few people passing by came into my room and asked, "Who is that group?" I said Nine Days. And not to my surprise their response was, "Really? They sound awesome; can you make me a copy of that?"
And naturally, I did, and there went two more fans who at this point can't get enough of the music. That wasn't the only time either. I play it and people keep asking and wanting to know. Hence the buzz. Where am I going with this? It is time we the fans came together. I sure I am not alone when I say Nine Days' music is inspiring and has struck a nerve on many levels to many fans.

Simply put, the music and the lyrics inspire.

Through the years this band has evolved into something truely great. Even down to the little things, like how much interaction the Band has with its fans, via posts etc. How many bands truely do this?

Now the purpose of this thread. It is time we, the fans, help "re-create" the buzz of 2000 that this group needs and deserves. I urge you all to Start spreading their name and music. There are alot of people out there that truely do not know the depths of musical talent that this band posesses. Nine Days is not just the one song, "Absolutely" (which despite Radio Stations like Z100 playing the daylights out of... it is still a kick ass tune.)

Encourage others to go to the shows. Tell people about their music. For those that go to college...try to make the student unions try to get Nine Days to play there... that is if the band will play...whatever you can think of!

Other acts for example, Dave Matthews Band are huge today (they paticular have said this in more than one interview) because of one thing: Their fans. In the beginning when no one heard of them, it was their fans that created their fan base not the record company. Fans that went to their shows, and spread the word.

Call it a matter of Hometown pride. But it is about time we show the rest of the country that Long Islanders can rock with the best of em. We Can do it!
Let get this Buzz going!
Support Local Bands!

P.S. Last nights show kicked ass!
true...the more the marrier! i've collected a few fans here and there or at least enlighten them about the glory of nd. I still feel a little a ackward when others ask what songs they sing; start i singing "Absolutely" & get a "oh" following. the general minds of the public should learn to associate their name to their songs & the only that could happen is if we put them out there. Pass the word on the the extreme so when the offical shu comes out it will get a warm greeting.

p.s. the things we do for nine days...cheese
p.p.s radio stations like lRI (NY) were playing "good friend" back in september but i guess they gotta play whats getting the requests so....get ur dialing finger ready....if @ 1st u don't succeed try try again smiling smiley

i completely agree, i play the abums to all my friends and i am slowly converting them, but the more people the better, if we can get nine days known before they release a single or the new album then they are a long way to doing a world tour (hopefully including somewhere in the UK plz!!)

if there are any people out there with like student radios play nine days a bit, build the buzz people!!

I've got an idea. If we're going to try to generate a buzz about the band and SHU, let's get some e-mails out to the media -- specifically the people who review CDs, like Glenn Gamboa of Newsday and the people at Entertainment Weekly. It's unusual to review an album that's not officially released, but I saw EW do it once with a live Bob Dylan bootleg CD. Besides, the band has encouraged people to download the songs (and even posted a link to them on the website), so it's not as if we'd be asking the reviewers to swipe Metallica songs off Napster and risk getting sued.
