story behind bob dylan
i was just reading tmc sleave note, reminicing bout the times when vinnie and jeremy were with the band and i noticed that for bob dylan the sleave notes say
'Words and Music by Brian Desveaux, Bob Dylan" Does that mean that part of the lyrics of music is taken from a bob dylan song or did Brian and Bob Dylan actually write that song together and if thats the case is Bob Dylan friendly with the band?? any help would be awesome
Bob Dylan is actually taking Jeremys place....
the part where bob's talking?
i'd imagine he wrote that. it's a sample. so bob wrote the part that was sampled. -Mike ![]() Go listen to my band. We're awesome. http://www.myspace.com/rosencrantzny weallgotwoodandnails
Wouldn't it be funny if Bob Dylan wrote a song called "Brian Desveaux"?
As Mike said, Bob Dylan wrote the parts of the song that were sampled. A band is legally required to get permission from the artist if they plan on sampling, and a band is legally required to give the inital artist a writing credit.
Another example, first one that popped into my head - Jessica Simpson had a song about three years ago called "I Think I'm in Love With You." John Mellencamp was credited as a writer because the song sampled parts of the instrumentation to "Jack and Diane." ~lori~
this legal moment has been brought to you by........

hahaha lol and nah Bob isn't tight with the band, however I believe Jakob is.
Who?
I think Tommy is tooo I absolutely love her when she smiles
that's why if you look at a lot of the rap songs now, there's like 58473 writers in it, cause they use like 7 diferent samples.

That who wasn't as in "Who is Jakob Dylan?"
If it is, he's in the Wallflowers, a very much under-rated band. James
how awesome is the album bringin down the horse, i love one headlight soooooo much, it wouldnt surprise me if Jakob was cool with the band, i ean nine days do know a fair deal of musicians i would assume, i remember wen they were recording shu didnt lifehouse come and visit them?!?!
Tell me about it!
Have you got red letter days? Worth getting?
Rami Jaffee (Keyboardist for Wallflowers played on SHU, Still Here I believe)
And in my opinion Red Letter Days is gross. I love their last 3, but i cant get into Red letter.
ive not got red letter days,, i just love bringing down the horse though, its like one of my favourite albums of all time!!
the wallflowers are good one song occasionall
but ehghghghg seeing them play a concert - it drags on and on - it sounds like one bloody long song painful much!! All their songs sound the same and you can't distinguish between them in my opinion but i have only seen them once - and i had already sat throught a lot of crap that day in sf and i had just gotten off a bus from seattle and i was relaly tired and in need of sleep - so maybe that is why - i do own "bringing down the horse" but i have not listened to it in yonks one of the guys (rammi???) is part of pete yorns record company "trampoline records" and i saw him perform at the launch of that and he was really good ![]()
