why the Absolutely (Story of a Girl) hating
i think that although it was over-played it brought alot of attention to the band!! surely its better to be remembered for something than for nothing?? i still REALLY lk it cause i only heard it for the three weeks i was in the states so to me its not overplayed (like hanging by a moment by lifehouse) but i think that more credit shoudl be given to it!!
every band has one song they are remembered for, what defines a great band from a normal one is if there are more than one remembered, and if SHU is ever released hopefully nd will accomplish that feat with, well pretty much any song off the album cause they all ROCK

its just so old.
like, of all the songs ND plays, that one is ALWAYS played. ALWAYS. for obvious reasons. and it takes up time that other songs could be played.
besides, its just fun to hate it.
i think it's a great song in moderation. i love it, in fact, but i'm tired of hearing it

of course that's with almost every tune.
if ND realeases Favorite Song and it gets the success of A(SoG), which we all hope, we'd get tired of it too...that's with all songs
but, like all songs that have been overplayed, we love it when we hear it for the first time in a long time...cause it brings back memories.
and personally, i love A(SoG), it's a great tune....plus playing it to the girls works wonders

honestly, i could hear it over and over and over again and that could be the only nine days song i ever hear again for the rest of my life, and i still wouldn't get sick of it... of course, being able to hear every song by nine days rocks too. moral of the story: the song can do no wrong (just like most nine days songs).
actually, a(sog) had nothing to do with me getting into ninedays. the first time holly told me about the song, i didn't particularly love it. i was buying another CD and nine days was a reccommended artist so i listened to "sometimes", fell in love with it, and bought it also. only when i first got the CD did i realize they sang absolutely.
so, yeah, i've never been particularly in love with it nor attached to it. so eh. =/ and, like steph said, it takes up time for other songs.
particularly one that starts with a piano and has a number in it. =P

I hated a(sog) and went to go see 3EB and they happened to be playing with them and i got there and was like wow they dont suck then i went to go see them again on my birthday and fell in LOVE...and 6 shows later here i am...i dont hate the song any more cause now its cute because it has meaning behind it...but then again i only hear it every once in a while so that i dont get sick of it...

Frankly, I can't get sick of Absolutely. Perhaps it's because I don't listen regularly to any radio stations which play Nine Days, but even over and over in my CD player, it's just a good song. That being said, I completely understand any argument relating to a song being played way too much. I feel that way about "Don't Speak" by No Doubt. EXCELLENT song, but played about 10 billion times too much by every radio station (rock, alternative, pop, all of them)

Not that it isn't great. It is.

i first hearded A (SoG) on one of the local stations down here, late at night listening to the radio with headphones on my bed. i was like, "WOW! great tune" i only heard the the solo to the end too hehe
