OT: Dick Lance

I remember there are some Incubus fans on here so I thought they might want to see this in case they haven't already:

Hello, Friends.

I normally don't participate in this forum because in all honesty internet message boards and chat rooms scare me. They are usually the harbingers of trash-talk, rumors, doctored photos and the occasional truth. But today I am here to try and clarify something that seems to be of growing interest and or concern amongst some of you; where is Dirk lance?

Well, to cut straight to the thick of it, he is no longer in the band. I regret to inform you of this in this way but we collectively felt it was the best medium.

Now, being a group of people who look forward and not the other way, I would love to express to all of you our gratitude towards Dirk for an amazing 12 years of artistry and dedication. He was and will remain a valuable asset to the history of this band.

I am aware that the looming ambiguity of this statement might raise more questions than before, but please know that we wish him the best of fortune in every endeavor he pursues. And we will and are continuing our pursuit of high art in sound.

We appreciate all of your support through these strange and beautiful times in our lives and in the world, and I pray that all of you remain safe and aware. But with that I must also issue you a warning; for the music we are currently composing for the next record will be like melted chocolate on your chests and necks!

See you this summer on Lollapalooza!

i went to an incubus concert once and it sucked. dont get me wrong, incubus makes amazing music, and the music itself was pretty good live, but the atmosphere was crappy. they didnt engage or interact with the audience at all. you could so tell they totally didnt want to be in this **** minnesota town. which is pretty crappy of them. i mean here is this whole room of people who paid a lot of money to see them, and they just cant wait for it to be over. and besides that, there were way too many white kids who think they are bad and way too much pot smoking going on. i hate that.

haha i like to think i fall into the last category.

anyway, yeah i heard about this. i dont think it will affect the band much at all. theyre already too popular. and ive seen them twice and i heart them and yeah lollapalooza should NOT be at dirty randalls island when it comes to ny.

You know...they are 3 hours late to the show, spent too much time in the sun, and are usually burnt..

yea whatever scott, you can stereotype us west coasters all ya want, but we can kick your butt anyday!

i know how naughty you all really are behind closed doors.

i love concerts with no personal space...i love the pushing and shoving...thats half of the show for me...at the right type of show...it does piss me off how ever if your seeing a really mild band and all of a sudden crowd surges from hell and what not appear...its like confused much?
