clubs

anyone have any idea of any club-type deals that wouldn't be completely and utterly against letting a new band play. NYC-Long Island would be ideal. the only places around me are big into the punk-hardcore scene and we simply do not fit in with a punch of little punk-hardcore bands.

i'm guessing the Downtown is more or less out of the question at this point seeing as they have real bands play and want to make money

though we've played in front of more people

The Downtown has open mike on Tuesday nights - each band who signs up gets, like, 10 minutes to play...there are more details in the article, but in a nutshell, if they like you, you may be asked to play for their homegrown show on a wednesday night - and possible airplay on wbab

the village pub has sunday open nights, i believe - there are a buch of places around that have similar deals.
