so yesterday as i was leaving work, i turned my car radio on just in time to catch the end of a conversation between the dj and some girl. and all i heard was the girl say "yeah, it was my favorite song for like two weeks and then you just stopped playing it," and the dj goes "yeah, its a cool tune im not sure what happened there, but here it is just for you," or something djish like that. and then i hear the beginning of good friend. and im like omg, i have to call!! so i called and im like "oh my god, i just wanted to tell you that i love nine days, im the nd superfan!!" and the dj was like "uh, ok" and then im like "no, thats not the only reason i called, i wanted to let you know that they have a new record label and the cd is coming out in june/july" and he had no idea what i was talking about. so then i had to explain to him about the sony/epic dropping them and all that stuff. and he asked me what the new record was called and im like "its called so happily unsatisfied, and its AWESOME!!" and he said "you have it already?" and im like of course. so then he asked me what it was like and i gave him like a ten minute discription and compared it to tmc and everything. and telling him that its more guitar driven rock, then i went off on jeremy/vinnie leaving the band. and when i was done he goes "it sounds really cool, you were good at that, we should employ you!!" then we laughed. and then im just like "so anyway the new album is called shu, its awesome, and its coming out this summer, if you could just pass that along to all the listeners, that would be great." and he said, "ok, well this girl thats going to be on the radio is going to sound a lot like you." then i got off the phone with him he played part of our conversation, like the shu part and a part where i say "i love nd more than anything" which i wish he hadnt played because its dorky. but it was funny.
so anyway, the point of this post is that i couldnt believe the dj had no idea about them being dropped and he had no idea even what the new album was going to be called. but he knows now, along with everyone else who listens to that station.
so thats all, thats my nine days story. sharing the nd love.
Haha, that's awesome! What radio station was it? Maybe I know it.. But anywho, that's really cool. 
lol, actually my first thought was that maybe it was you who requested the song in the first place, being the only other mn boarder. nd doesnt really have a huge fanbase around here. but then i was like naw, that would just be way too random, and being a board person, you would have known all that stuff i told him. and besides, you are too far away to catch the same radio stations as me. but for a second, i thought maybe...
but seriously, even when i sing them absolutely, some people around here still have no idea who im talking about when i mention nine days. i just dont get it. but this area is just not into that genre lately, they are all big with the rap scene i guess. thats funny, the rap scene in minnesota.

Weeellll ya never know 'cause where I live is actually not St Cloud, even though I go to school there. If you live in Duluth, I may have a chance of knowing 'cause I've been there a couple times, getting a friend from school, and we listened to radio then, hehe. But anywho, I didn't request it.. I'm not realy one for calling radio stations, lol.
Oh! And when I told people in my speech class that i was doing my speech on Nine Days, they'd be like "What's that?" so I just started saying "Nine days, a music group" lol. Oh and, I haven't really noticed that everyone's into the rap thing, lol... 'cause when I told people that Nine Days did Absolutely, they knew who I was talking about, .
i just think they are into the rap thing because i work at a music store and 75% of the cd's i sell are rap.
oh, and right after i posted that about no one even knowing absolutely, one of my coworkers came over and asked me what i was doing, and i told him i was on the nine days message board. and he started singing "this is the story of a girl..." and he knew all the words. he sang the entire song, it was hilarious. i guess he proved me wrong.
and it was MIX 108. the radio station.

Haha, that is too awesome. Anywho, I envy that you get to work at a music store... we have none that are very close to here. Though we do have Mcdonalds.. and that's the best place ever to work... or maybe not.
Just last night I thought to myself... I would love to work in a music store... maybe I should find a job at one for the summer... (hello... Empire Records... I would kill to have a job like that haha)

he sounded like a cool dj though at least he listened to you and then took your talk and did somethin with it - even if it did embarrase you
my work is playing "good friend" and it is freaking me out - it alwasys comes on just as i am walking out the door to go home and i can't leave cause it is nine days so i have to think of excuses to hang around for 4 mins

oh melissa! i was driving around today (okay, okay, i was going to the MALL, of course) and for some reason this story popped into my head...i read it last night and i wanted to tell you that it was quite possibly the awesomest story i ever heard, but i was tired and didn't do it...and then today when i was driving, i thought of it and it made me smile....so....you're awesome, girl ) and i have just missed you lots )
