What is, if any, the significance behind the title "The Madding Crowd?" I know there is a book titled Far From the Madding Crowd - is there a correlation between the two? I've never read the book but I'd like to. Just curious

Melissa... ADD... I feel your pain. I REALLY wanna know how it is. My sister said what she read was good, and I could go to the college library and check it out but man that includes having some motivation. Forget it!

Woof!

School cafeteria's/canteens don't sell food. They sell reconstituted mush!

Ick.....

You get thumb-prints? What school are you at?

I've never heard such a weird thing in my life......oh wait, I just had a conversation with Rachel about 'Marmite'. So, yeah, maybe I have. yawning smileyP

My favourite book would have to be 'I am David' by Anne Holm. It's more for kids I guess but that is when I read it, and for some reason I loved it. And have done ever since.

It's a story of survival, courage, decency and determination.

Marmite... is that like Vegemite? Like yeast product or something... It LOOKS like chocolate but tastes extremely disgusting. Ewww.

brian told me to read the mayor of casterbridge or something... i was like hah, no...

return of the native i think was enough hardy to last me a good fifty years. i liked it... rather i liked eustacia vye, i didn't like the book very much.

i started far from the madding crowd... but then i was like ok bathsheba, you better be as cool as eustacia... or else i'm not finishing... and then i saw the silmarilion on my floor and i started reading that again.

i definitely prefer to read books with no redeeming social value whatsoever, like the "oprahs book club" books. im trying to force myself to get into it, but i just dont much care for hardys style, and its really hard to get into the rhythm when the phone keeps interrupting with people who think i should be doing my job. maybe i should save this one for a quiet night at home. i think ill pass the time right now with slaughterhouse-five, this one is much more interesting. or maybe ill go out to the car and get atlas shrugged, ayn rand is brilliant. no, thats way to far to walk, and that book requires thinking.

i need a smutty gas station romance to spice up this boring night at work.
