No West Ham because of my undying love for Brian McBride. I like Bocanegra, too.

In my search for an EPL team I wanted one represented by Americans who didn't **** up the World Cup (ie: Reyna on Manchester City). Since I can't be that guy who gets into a new sport and immediately roots for a front-runner, I also needed a team lower on the rung, so that I can experience the years of hardship that a true fan ought to.

Fulham is also synonymous with U.S. soccer. They've been around a while, don't get respect, but still go out and play the game like men. There's no Christiano Ronaldo playing for Fulham just like the U.S. team wasn't filled with diving cheating douchebags like Italy.

Reyna did **** up in the World Cup. Saying he didn't is silly. Pope fucked up, too, Beasley did nothing other than that one beautiful pass and Gooch was nearly a non-factor and Donovan may as well not have been there.

It was a group effort to not make it out of the group stages. My point was Reyna didn't fit my qualifications for picking an English team and McBride did (Fulham having more U.S. players helped it, too). He also made the jump there from MLS. Even more American connection.

God damn Red Bulls can't win a game when they need to.

If they don't win on Saturday they're not in the playoffs. Not that they'll do anything in the playoffs, but where's the pride? It'll be interesting to see if Arena throws the game in order to bag some allocation money. I don't know if I'd really blame him.

I'm not a tattoo guy (although I do believe I'll get one of the battle standard of Gondor some day), but I'm convinced that if I were a big-time footballer I'd be tattooed like a ************, probably including my face because I'd have been born Scottish and gone for a permanent woad look.
