Name my Froggie!

yeah, that's pretty much true. What I think is cool is that when I started, my fingers couldn't reach very well, and it hurt to stretch my fingers that much (bass frets are further apart than guitars). But now, like even though I haven't played in 2 months, when I go back, I'm sure my reach will be fine. It's cool.

Callouses are great, because at first they're blisters, and you can shove your fingers in people's faces and be all "look! look!!!!!" heehee! But then, because I don't play for a long time, my callouses go away, and then right when my fingers get all soft again, I get home and I start playing again, and it always hurts again :-( But I totally love playing my bass, so I put up with the pain. Wasn't it the Offspring who said, "the more you hurt, the more it shows you really care"?

I think the pain would be worth having that talent.. guitar is something I really want to learn. Michelle Branch is my inspiration, hehe. She is awesome. Ya know what else is awesome?

Clear eyes. Clear eyes is awesome. I thought they were gonna stop playing that commercial forever and now it's back... haha, yay.

And LOL Melissa... that is great... that sounds like an awesome color of thread. Good choice. We must all learn from Melissa in our choice making, haha. smiling smiley.

I think the same is actually true for wind instruments... after awhile it has quite the effect on your face. I once played in the orchestra for this 3 hour long play, and we did it two times in one day and my lips/cheeks were like rubber. But it was all worth it, it was an awesome experience.

Wow, how subjects can change, lol from frogs to guitars and other instruments. smiling smiley

Sax is cool. Do you mean alto sax? I tried my friend's once, and it was cool. She was amazed I could even make sound on it, but I do play bass clarinet which is quite a bit like a sax. What was really hard was playing bass clarinet for four years and then trying clarinet.. I couldn't get a sound out of the clarinet for a good 20 minutes. Haha.. I tend to blabber on about these things.. nevermind me. smiling smiley

When I play a song that has some quick hammer-ons and pull-offs, my lips quiver along. It's a totally unconscious reflex.

hahahahhahahahahahahhahhhhhahhaahahahaahhhhaaaaaaaaaaa

whenever i play anything i mouth the notes i'm playing so it looks like i'm talking to myself when i play... and if i'm bending a note or something, i get this look of agony of my face for no reason. it's hysterical. i'm such a loser.

i played the flute for a few years, but then i had to choose between band and choir because of scheduling conflicts. i sucked anyway. my band teacher used to always tell me that i had a perfect mouth formation, but i needed to practice my music reading skills. but i just was not that committed.

and there is this guitar on super clearance at work so i think im going to buy it and teach myself to play for real. im super excited.

Hmm.. wow.. for us, if we're in both, there's like.. they go on at the same time and if your'e in both you have band, choir, band, choir and then Friday was usually split. That's how it worked with my band anyway, you had to try out and make it into both too if you wanted to be in both.

And then the other bands and choirs, you'd go to band for half or choir for half or you could take something else that other half. It's kinda confusing.

Anyway, I was in "the good" band and then in a choir which took place the next block of time.. the one you didn't have to try out for. So basically half my day was band and choir haha. That was only my senior year.. I just wanted to give choir a try and I really had no other classes to take. My gosh I ramble on when it comes to this stuff and I don't know why since I'm not in it anymore... ohhh well.

No... sad smiley

And he probably never will... I still can't decide. It's a good thing its not a cat or dog that would have to answer to something!

Ooops. Just kidding.

I just got a brilliant idea for its name...

RIGBY! Like Eleanor Rigby... Vertical did a cover of that song Friday when I saw them. Lissa, me, and one other person were the only ones I could see that knew the words! WHOA! Dont these people listen to the Beatles?!?! Anyhow. Thats the name. Rigby. Thanks for all the other ideas anyways...

Colleen.

That is a very cute name. I'm not sure if it's the same song, but we played a song called Eleanor Rigby in band, it was cool. But anywho, I guess I shall have to get my own frog and name it Petunia, smiling smiley.

lol, how awesome! 70+ posts, and not a single one of them had any relation to the final name! :-) Well, I guess Sarah mentioned that Freddie the Frog has a song about it, and the frog is now named after a song......so that means Sarah is the winner!

Oh, wait. Sketch suggested "Bobby Roe" before Sarah suggested "Freddie the Frog." Well, I'm not Judge Judy and executioner, so I'll put it up for everyone to decide:

Sketch suggested "Bobby Roe" first,

but Sarah explicitly stated that "Freddie the Frog" is the name of a song,

and Colleen ended up naming the frog after a song.

So there it is. Let's make this thread even longer!

Umm... I'm the winner? Since I picked the final name and not a single soul even mentioned the Beatles... Just my opinion.

Hehe, okay. I was going to say, "let Colleen decide" anyway. But you know what? We're all winners! Yay!
