Input..?

Input..?
May 06, 2003 04:32AM
Hey everyone! I have a question for this paper I'm doing. I'm gonna be completely nuetral on this so if you say something I disagree with, I'm not gonna argue, I just need opinions so I can add more to my paper, hehe.

So, I was just wondering when you all think that two people should decide to have sex. I'm on the last section of the paper, and I've got 2 pages and I need 5.. yuck. So is it: 1) If the two people both want it, they should do it even if they don't care about eachother 2) the people should love eachother or 3) they should wait until marriage.

Even if you have some ideas that don't go with your opinion, I'd be happy to hear those too. I need everything I can get, especially since I'm not sure how to research on this without getting porn, haha.

In all seriousness. Thats a hard one.

Er, no 'inuendo' intended. :O)

Haha.

I think that it would depend on the characters involved. It only really has to be a mutual attraction. Instinctively, thats what drives sex anyway.

Sex doesn't require love.... but it makes for a much better, long-term catalyst for a relationship than just spur of the moment lusting.

Oooh. That last paragraph was good stuff. There. You have your conclusion.

Hmmm. Marriage.

I find this subject weird.

Sex has existed since, well..... ever.

Marriage is a concept derivative of religion, and as such is more of a rule of a 'faith' or society, than a rule of life. I mean......did Adam and Eve ever get married?.....Do you even HAVE to get married?!.....

In modern cultural circles, it would seem so.

But I would not say that it is an essential part of living. I could spend my entire life with one partner, and not need some manmade certificate and ring to justify my reasons.

So no. I don't believe that you should wait for marriage. Since marriage is an artificial creation anyway.

None of the above is designed to offend any of its readers. These are just my views on the subject, so please don't start mouthing off at me, because frankly, I couldn't give a she-hite.

marriage is the biggest waste of money to ever grace the planet. whoever thought it of it was the dumbest person ever. so yea i guess that rules the marriage option out.
Re: Input..?

Ok, I'm not saying this is my opinion, but what about the people who think that any sex other than to reproduce is a sin? Hehe, I've already got a ton of stuff on that, I'm just wondering what ya'll think.

And oh! Sketch, that second post was great. Haha.

i want to get married so i can call her my "wife" and maybe wear a t-shirt that says "i went on my honeymoon and all i got was this lousy wife"

that'd be neat

no point waiting till marriage but for me, love is a necessity. sex is the closest you can get to a person physically and for me it has to involve love.

do it if you're both in love and truly know it. marriage, is my opinion, isn't necessary.
Re: Input..?

Here's a thought. Why not just print out these comments and use the print outs for your 'paper'. It'll show you have researched the opinions of people, (from around the world no-less!)...and it'll at least take up a couple of those pages you were trying to fill.

We are all pretty anonymous on here so there shouldn't be any problems with it.

However, I may have to edit the porn joke........

ooooohhhh MAJOR brainstorm here..

if you are allowed to interview ppl.. and use others opinions.. you could cite them in you're references or works cited page. if u need to know how to do that just let me know... i rule at that stuff..

yo. it's amtter of maturity. that's the bottom line. if both people involved are mature enough to handle the ramifications and the outcome of any situation that may present itself as a result of having sex....and if all parties involved are mature enough to be honest with themselves and the other person (people?) involved as to what they expect, then sex is not a problem....it's only when things are not honest that problems result. and unfortunately, that seems to happen more often than not.

Re: Input..?

if the two people ccare for each other then they should do it as soon as they want to, but they should be aware of the concequences cos it can completely **** up a friendship/relationship

just remember it's the most beautiful thing and it needs to be the most beautiful thing for both of you, if one of the partners wants to wait till marriage you both should wait.

Re: Input..?

Arrrrrrr. I am writing the paper and I've got a little less than 4 pages and I just cannot think of anything else. I'm seriously tempted to just end it and be like :

I am fully aware that this is not five pages, however I feel that I have thoroughly explained the argument and feel that there is nothing more to be said without repeating myself and filling another page with "junk". I feel that it is in my best interest and yours to just end this now since I've said everything I feel needs to be said on the matter.

Haha, I probably won't do that though 'cause it kinda makes me sound snotty and questioning of her 5 page rule. But I really do think that it's dumb 'cause all the last page will be is a bunch of bs. I think you really shouldn't set a page guideline on something like opinions 'cause there's really only so much that can be said.

I'm really thinking about doing it.. especially since I've got a B in the class, and this is just extra credit, and the teacher doesn't seem to be the type to get offended by that.. I think she'll just laugh and maybe realize that I make a good point...

I dunno.. advice anyone??
Re: Input..?
May 08, 2003 10:35AM
that's a retarded rule. as if 5 pages makes a good paper. i could write a paper in two that's better than others that are 6. teachers are fucking stupid when they do that.

Re: Input..?
May 09, 2003 08:43AM
Nope nope, the teacher had specific guidelines. Five pages, single space, only one line between sections, 10-12 size font. I put it on arial rather than times new roman, which made it a little longer. But still, I only made it to 4 pages, so I added something on the end about how I coudln't possibly add any more without repeating myself or going off topic and that I didn't want to waste her time with space filling junk.

I've gotten brave, haha. But then again, I'd never do it if it wasn't extra credit and if the teacher actually knew who I was and I was going to have to go to class again. But anywho, hopefully she accepts that I make a good point.. "quality not quantity" I almost put that, but I realized maybe she wouldn't consider what I had written, quality.

Anywho, thanks everyone who responded; it was very helpful.
