Im no massive NineDays Fan because iv only ever come across them once or twice but i HAVE come across "story of a Girl" a lot and i don't quite understand why iv seen it advertised as so many different bands song.
Third Eye Blind
Matchbox 20
Matchbook romance
3 doors down
The song was labelled as being recorded by a lot of other more well known bands and uploaded onto P2P networks with that file name to publicise the song.

"And so tomorrow there will be another number for the one who had a name."
I hated when people would share mislabeled mp3s on P2P networks. I remember once I downloaded around 10 versions of Stand By Me, all being labeled as different artists. All of them were Ben E. King's version.
It was actually a collaborative effort. Nine Days co-wrote the song with Third Eye Blind, Three Doors Down, Three Dog Night, Matchbox Twenty, Stroke 9, Maroon 5, The Appalonia Six, Take Five, 98 Degrees and Timbaland.
That totals 161 and a badass producer. We figured with that many numbers added up, we're bound to find a hit in there somewhere.
