JH and Disney have something in common...
Mitchel Musso, of "Hannah Montana" fame, (he plays her brother's best friend, I think) has recorded "The In Crowd," and Disney Records will be releasing the song as the lead single off his upcoming album (2009).
There are a few lyric modifications - I assume to make it "Disney - friendly", but the track remains pretty close to my version. I always loved that song and it fits him perfectly. The single will premiere on Radio Disney on Dec 5, and move on from there. Life is funny. I like it. John
did they have to get your permission to do that? how did that work? pretty cool though !
Brian
here ya go. he has already been singing it live for some time it seems.

Can't say I care for the kid's performing style. But somebody around him has good taste in song selection

I hope you'll get richer from this thing man... i'm sure i'll still love your version more but it will be intresting to hear
good luck with the new recordings, can't wait to buy the album
I am just glad John gets a paycheck for once! The man been paying out of his pocket for years. Good things happen to those that wait..so it seems.

I haven't posted on here in a while, but I couldn't resist after reading this and watching the Youtube video of the Hannah Montana kid interpreting John's song. It was kinda surreal, and amazingly, not a butchering like I thought it'd be. Still nowhere as great as the original.
Disney's got deep pockets. Take 'em for what they got, John ![]() ~ Eric of Wisconsin ~ Nine Days and John Hampson music featured in my independent feature film "Will and Testament"! Facebook Page for "Will and Testament" IMDB Page for "Will and Testament"
If I see Johnny rolling up in a Bentley all pimped out at the next show, Ill know who funded it.
I hate to say this but this guy sounds like he could be a REAL young JH. It's a great song with a great message for young people which may actually get out there with Disney behind it. Good on ya John
Oliver from Hannah Montana singing The In Crowd? What? That's...that's so weird.
I mean, cool? Yay for John getting a paycheck, but....Oliver? That's SO WEIRD! ~lori~
i know. did you see the youtube videos? CRAAAAAZY.

I don't even know what to say about this.... that's cool though, John. I hope Disney's paying you!

I listened to the studio verson that the Musso kid recorded, its on youtube now. Anyways it isn't really that bad
Wait so this is John's song? And big fat disney wants to get it's dribbling chops on it and give the credit to someone else? am I getting this straight?
Cop out! It'll never be a "John Hampson" song ever again.
disney has to pay him.
