Which Travis album should I get?
The title pretty much says it all. I've heard four Travis songs: "Why Does It Always Rain on Me?", "Sing", "Side", and "Turn." Obviously, two of those are on one album, and the other two are on another album. I hate it when that happens! I always feel like I'm missing something, but I don't jave enough money to buy all the albums. (It's why I've never bought any Rage Against the Machine albums)
Anyway, I'm leaning towards "The Invisible Band" because I really like "Side" a whole ton of a lot, and "Sing" has a banjo in it (or at least that's how I remember it...correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone has any opinions to the contrary. Thanks! Cheran --- Qui a besoin d'un coeur quand un coeur peut ?tre cass
No no no def get The man Who, and if not that then get Good Feeling
but thats just my opinion :-P ~SOFiA~ "you wont hear me, still you endear me, now..woo woo"
Both excellent albums, my first Travis album was The Man Who and I loved it. It contains one of my favorite songs ever "Luv." However, I think The Invisible Band is a lot more of a mainstreem album so it might be able to draw you in easier. I dunno, it's really 100% opinion as I think they're pretty much equal albums (Although my copy of The Invisible Band has 16 songs while all copies of The Man Who have 10)
ooooo, you've made the decision for me, my friend!
I hate buying albums that have any less than 12 songs, unless it's a band I already know I love. So I guess I'll buy "The Invisible Band" first. If I like, then maybe I'll go get their earlier stuff. Thanks for the help! Cheran --- Qui a besoin d'un coeur quand un coeur peut ?tre cass

The Man Who... on average the tracks are better in my opinion and have a bit more... something about them!

Hmmmm.....
If you listen to 'The Man Who' all the way through, it makes you want to commit 'hari-kari'. It's suicidally depressing in large doses. There are no uplifting tracks on that one.... Now 'The Invisible Band's', 'Flowers in the Window'....... now that's a tune.... ______________________________ "Live for the Dream" SKETCH
Hmmm, on second thoughts after having a listen to both the albums again which i haven't done for a while The Invisible Band is growing on me again.
Spin a coin to decide maybe? ========================================= I would like to be ignorant, Then I would not know how ignorant i was... =========================================
mmmm.... 'hari-kari' if i didn't know better i'd think that that was the name of a horny Japanese porn star (as opposed to un-horny Japenese porn stars)!
Thankfully I do know better and sort of see what you mean I guess it depends what connotations the album has for you... Things are the way things are only to the people who see them that way. ========================================= I would like to be ignorant, Then I would not know how ignorant i was... =========================================
Well, I like suicidally depressing music. Sometimes it actually cheers me up. I'm crazy like that.
Anyway, my mind is made up for now. Once I get enough money, I'm buying "The Invisible Band." "Sing" is just too alluring (remember that this is a guy who plays banjo asking). Thanks for all the input though. I might still buy "the man who" if I really like "Invisible band" Cheran --- Qui a besoin d'un coeur quand un coeur peut ?tre cass
