It's been my experience that "in the style of" usually has to do with a karaoke version. Often there will be a "performance track" that's just the instruments and occasionally backing vocals or something that you can sing to, and a "practice track" that has someone else singing it, too, so it can kinda sound like a cheap cover. Could that be it?

Alternative Addiction now has a contest to win a free iPod Nano full of Nine Days stuff including the SML! I just registered. I'm really liking the advertising they're getting on there. Hooray for AA!!

I may be wrong since I've never had the privilege of playing one, but isn't that essentially the same effect playing a 12 string would have? Just wondering.

Hey, I'm liking the song. Never heard it before. But I was wondering, just out of curiousity, if there's a slightly better quality version of it? If not, this one will do. But I am kinda known to be nitpicky about that stuff. So anyone know one? I'd really appreciate it, 'cause I really like this song!
Thanks!

I'm really loving "A Girl In California". It's just amazing! Keep the demo. Don't change it. Really intimate with just John and a guitar. I love it. LOVE IT!!!
Oh and some interesting little new twists to Suddenly, keyboards and such. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I noticed it was different, too. And now when you point it out, it does have a similar sound to one of the versions of Lost You and others I have. Makes sense to me. I'm always excited to hear different versions of songs to see how they progress. I think it's way cool!!!

Hey, I'm looking for a picture of the album art. Can't find it anywhere. Could someone please post one with a decent resolution? I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Just out of curiousity, how long has it been like that? I don't get to check it out very often. I'm excited about them updating everything! That means good things soon. Yay.

I always wondered that. Someone once said that there were harmonies on it, I think... but aren't there harmonies on the album version? I also once found a version that claimed to be the radio version on some filesharing thing but when compared to the album version, they were exactly the same.
In short,
I dunno; please tell me.

Gee, I never thought I'd see the day: someone won't download some songs released officially by the artist only online for free (which was the intention of the artist), but "buy-or-die" I guess you could say... hmmmmm, interesting.

I think they're a great band. Yes, the change in sound is regretable in some cases but you almost can't compare the two because they are so different. Yeah, it's not smart to do but I love both sounds. I actually even prefer the newer remix of Non-toxic over the original. My favorite song by them is Empty Spaces. Second fave, In My Mind. <--- VERY powerful song. Those who say ly

They're alright. Their sound is a bit generic but they've got some songs I really like (i.e The Promise, Stay Tonight, and Tiger Lily) but I don't think I'll ever buy the cd. Sorry peeps.

Here's one almost no one knows unless they've been to AA.com recently.

I'm with Genesis. It's really good, I just don't like as much as most of you seem to do. And in case nobody noticed, most of what I said was positive remarks.

Someone said the new album is "slower". Do you mean tempo? I'm excited for this. It's fast songs that get me into a band but the slow ones are always my favorite. Example: Dishwalla. Yeah, Opaline is one of THE BEST albums EVER made. People just don't know what's good for them...

Actually, I think Ocean Avenue is way better than anything else they've done. I don't much care for their more punk stuff which is mostly what that is (a few on OA, too). But stuff like Only One, Breathing, and Ocean Avenue are just amazing. One Year Six Months is sooooo wonderful. Makes me wish they did more acoustic stuff like that.
Oh, and I tried Brand New once... ugh. Sorry . I ac

The song's pretty good. The tune is nice and could get catchy. Great guitar work in places and the singer's voice has that familiar sound to it but is different enough to be his own. My only gripe is the lyrics. I'm not one for swearing in songs, but that's me. And after one listen I'm not a big fan of the chorus; sounds a bit forced. But it is really good! Honestly, I wo

I dunno. I think I would have to put myself down for Ocean. Of course the verses are pretty laid back but once the guitars in the chorus kick in... I dunno. At least I'd say that's kinda hard. I'm actually surprised no one else mentioned it.

I was just at Wal-Mart. They didn't have it.
Now I'm doubly bummed.
