i really really really really pray to God, Allah, Vishnu, Shiva, and whomever else is up there that teachers don't pounce on this and start telling kids that their spelling doesn't REALLY matter, it's just that they need to get a couple of letters in the right place

i think the study was just to show you how the mind works... if you're reading a long passage then you skim and assume which words go where, if i just saw "rscheearch" i dunno if i could read it right away
i feel like bad spelling and typo-s on IM might have built us an immunity to spelling mistakes, which isnt necessarily a good thing

definitely can read things that are all jumbled like that. it's intersting, like that whole thing with the letter F in the word "of" and you don't count it as an F if you're just reading through

you know what i'm talking about

but yeah i completely agree about the IM thing and think it's a shame

if your reading a sentence you dont have enough time to sound out words so its all dependent on recognizing the group of letters together and what word that makes.

and if i do know what your talking about with the "of" thing, i can remember thinking should've was spelled should of, just because we're taught that "of" makes that sound

i just got that forward too from my dad..i read it just fine. my typos help me out alot
