i think i read something about a song by the boys called dirty poet. or is it just a john song? i'm not sure...

I've heard it before... they played it last year in Chicago. It was awesome, because it wasn't even in the setlist, and they just randomly tossed it in there. So good.

Remember any words/parts of it? What tempo/style is it?

Hmmmm... It's slow. Quite slow. Well, at least this version was.

All I remember of the lyrics are:
"?...Turn your head and lie?
But I can tell the ?fountain? from the well
You were my heaven I was your hell"

I'm not exactly sure on anything except the last line though... Colleen might remember some more.

Damn girl, what I can remember is just little bits so I won't even attempt it.

The song is amazing though, and yeah very slow.

I think I like the name of Sister Hazel's label better:

Croakin' Poets

It made me laugh so hard when I first read that... maybe I was just in a weird mood or something? :\

I believe John's is 'Hazelsongs'...

And yes, I always liked 'You make me sick I make music'.

I don't know if I'd say 'fan'... I have a couple of their albums, and I enjoy them...whatever that makes me. =)

for those still confused about what "Dirty Poet" is, it's a song that the band recorded for "So Happily Unsatisfied" that they didn't include on the final album.

according to the bands old studio journal, 14 songs were recorded during the "SHU" sessions, and "Dirty Poet" and "Lee Lee" were the two that didn't make the final cut.

Not entirely true, there were many many songs completed. We only have names for three though, which are; Dirty Poet, Leelee and Stay (There were other names that got thrown around in the journals and at live shows, but whether or not they recieved a final treatment is unknown.)
