haha, The Streets have one song that I like, and that is "The Irony of it All" all their other songs blow. I dunno if i'd put GnR on the list, but the others i pretty much agree with.
Rock on... Kevin I wanna be with you forever, and tomorrows not too late... "Beware the fury of a patient man" ~John Dryden
The Hives
The Kings Of Leon The Cooper Temple Clause The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Farse Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster Hatebreed 22-20s Audiobully The Streets (apart from "Fit But You Know It" which is genius) Slipknot Korn Mudvayne Murderdolls Raging Speedhorn The Datsuns Iron Monkey Cradle of Filth Marilyn Manson So Solid Crew Blazin Squad D12 East17 One True Voice Liberty X S Club (7, 5, 8 or Juniors) Doubt I'll get too many complaints for slating that likely lot. I'll stick my neck out and defend Bon Jovi and Guns N Roses, "November Rain" is one of the greatest masterpieces ever written, stands for me nearly alongside Bohemian Rhapsody, and "Keep The Faith" along with "Wanted Dead Or Alive" are real class.
Chris, sorry but i hate you. the coopers? the hives? THE DATSUNS? shame on you

Oh sure I like one or two songs from every music genre, but most of it is just not my taste. Besides that, do you actually realise how much genres we there are?? The ones I summed up are maybe 1% of the total, so what rests isn't only mainstream pop/punk-rock. Although that's the sort of music I listen most, I'm not going to 'boo' the rest out there what's not in my list. There are even more than 50 related genres to the general rock music I like. I do not only like poppy-rock like you're suggesting, based on totally nothing actually.

I tend to listen to a lot of different types of music. It's mostly rock and acoustic stuff but I'm always open to new things. I listened to a lot of 50s-70s songs as a child and then of course 90s and current stuff..
I must admit I do like R&B and hip hop with one major exception. If the guy's rapping about his "hood" and giving "shout-outs" to his "pimps" and "dogs" I really can't listen to it, if the person raps about something other than that like his life experiences, love, etc., I can listen to it and actually enjoy it. So, I guess I can't stand "Gangsta Rap." I don't tend to hate the following genres but I generally laugh when I hear or see them: Boy Bands and the "pop-punk" bands that are full of pretty boys with instruments and lyrics about how their parents don't understand them. I like a very small amount of Good Charlotte's older stuff but now, I mean, "Girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money." No ****. Now there's an intelligent lyric. ~Ryan~
Oh no jazz, blues and grunge and others aren't my taste at all, but I won't say 'boo' to it, I can listen to that kind of music. My taste is indeed just rock-music, but not only poppy-rock like Nine Days. (NO, I'm not calling Nine Days poppy rock, but most people call it that. Comparing their old stuff and their last two cd's to 'what's called' poppy rock (Busted for example) it's not poppy rock I think). I'll list some bands, some of them I can't say they're punk, alternative or whatever.
3 Doors Down - Alternative Rock Feeder - Rock (no poppy rock, that's sure) Weezer - except from green no poppy-rock, own sound/genre I guess Jump, Little Children - acoustic rock SR-71 - pretty hard rock, I dunno which genre Nada Surf - ??? newer stuff a bit cheesy maybe yes Ozma - same as Weezer but more rock, no pop. Franz Ferdinand - ... Retro rock?? Something Corporate - emo/rock/pop?? And so I can list almost 40 of them. That's not much, I know, but I rather stick to a couple of bands I really love. Oh yeah, you've probably only heard the singles from 3dd, feeder and weezer, because if you've heard the whole albums you know it has nothing to do with popmusic. It's at least alt-rock, not alt-pop. I know most of their singles (kryptonite, here without you (3dd), Keep fishin, buddy holly, island (weezer)) are pop-rock, but that's to reach a bigger public. I know it was a suggestion, but I just explain that I'm not only listening poppy-rock, although it's not a bad thing in my opinion to stick to one sort of music.
And... maybe your definition of popmusic is different. Most of the R&B/rap **** is pop I guess, because pop just stands for popular music. Most of the popmusic out there is a group with computer-disco music with weak and repetitive lyrics without a meaning. That's my definition of popmusic. Music with real guitars and drums, own songs, no repetitive lyrics and no or not too much computer effects is what I call rock music.
