any views on any of these bands/singers?-been told they are good!
yeah they are all amazing.
death cab for cutie is really good. they're pretty mellow and "emo". try Tiny Vessels by them. along with rooney which if kind of your retro-phantom-planet type band. try Blueside. jack johnson, ben harper, and jason mraz are just plain-out-awesome. they're men that make beautiful music hahaha. if you like mellowed out stuff, listen to jack johnson. try Flake. stroke 9 is more of on the punk rock side. but they're not as gay as some of the bands out now. they're a little older. and really good too. they have a song you'd porbably recognize, called Little Black Back Pack. my favorite is Letters. cool! enjoy
Jason Mraz is pretty good, i can't really say much else besides i've listened to like 2 songs by them. (same goes for Death cabs for cuties and stroke 9)
Jack Johnson is amazing. I have 3 of his cds and they are quite amazing, definately check them out. if your lookin, i'd reccomend Bushfire Fairytales to start off and then check out On and On....two really solid cds. good when in the company of a lady friend if i do say so myself. ;o) Rock on... Kevin I wanna be with you forever, and tomorrows not too late... "Beware the fury of a patient man" ~John Dryden
I think 'indie' is really no genre, much too wide. If you compare DCFC with bands they use to call emo (saves the day, bright eyes: bands which really suck imo) DCFC is not emo imo.
The bands I know from this list are DCFC and Jason Mraz. I like some songs off waiting for my rocket to come from Jason, it flows pretty well. DCFC is one of the best bands ever imo. Their first album and their compilation of old tracks are very good, their later stuff is a bit dull and their newest album Transatlanticism is their best imo. I like every single track, it's just brilliant, especially the title track (Transatlanticism), Tiny Vessels, We Looked Like Giants and the rest...
