i hate franz ferninand. every song has the same beat. people compare them to modest mouse (i have no idea why), and they shouldn't cuz modest mouse blows them out of the water.

I like them. Kind of glad they one but I agree with the lack of variation in their music.

i hate franz ferdinand but modest mouse are awesome and any comparisons are from people who simply dont understand music.

snow patrol or the zutons should have won i think

Although Snow Patrol is far superior to Franz Ferdinand, I really like FF actually. It's just music which makes me happy. They're coming to Holland and I'd really like to visit them, but it's way too expensive. Stupid, 25 euros + 15 euros for the train...

I must admit Modest Mouse is pretty horrible actually.

I really hate them, but I think they're a decent band. And that doesn't make much sense, does it? You get what I mean.

And Meelman, think of it like this: ?40 is only like buying 2 CDs, but you get to see them live.

modest mouse is talented and artistic. franz ferninand is repetitive of itself.

The constant lead riff to that Franz Ferdinand tune on MTV all the time is DIRECTLY LIFTED - directly - from Zeppelin's "Achille's Last Stand."

If it's ok to simply take classic rock riffs and use them in your songs and get played on MTV, then somebody please tell me, so I can jump on the bandwagon.

It is, though I was mistaken, as the riff Franz Ferdinand stole is from "Trampled Under Foot"

But I encourage you to check the song out if you haven't heard it. The riff is the same, and drives the song the same way - only it does so much better and was released 30 or so years before "take me out."
