Let's see, Phantom Planet's The Guest was 2002. And the Switchfoot, Deathcab and APC albums are all from 2003. Not that I care or anything.
Best album of 2004? Damn, I buy so many f'n CDs every week, I can barely remember what I own sometimes. One of the CDs I really dug this year was A Perfect Circle's Emotive. It's mostly a cover album, but it's done really well. And how can you not love Maynard James Keenan's voice?
I dont listen to whole albums so I have no clue what my fav. albums are. I buy all my music online basically. So lets see what do I like listening too... jimmy Eat World, Coheed and Cambria? Was there new one this year? Oh yah the New Best of the Chili Peppers too... or was that last year also? Who knows. Taking Back Sunday Maybe? All American Rejects... didnt they put out a new one? Who knows I give up.
~*wOOt!*
in no particular order:
jimmy eat world - futures green day - american idiot brian desveaux - alive today collective soul - youth modest mouse - good news for people who love bad news garden state soundtrack U2 - how to dismantle an atomic bomb i think that's all... i'll add more if i think of any... ~ Eric of Wisconsin ~ Nine Days and John Hampson music featured in my independent feature film "Will and Testament"! Facebook Page for "Will and Testament" IMDB Page for "Will and Testament"
in no real order, my top 10 of the year...
s-puking and crying head automatica-decadence as tall as lions-lafcadio gatsby's american dream-in the land of lost monsters folly-insanity later nellie mckay-get away from me onelinedrawing-the volunteers green day-american idiot straylight run-straylight run the get up kids-guilt show and way many honorable mentions. these albums just soundtracked the year basically.
oh yeah, i got "the moon and antarctica". "the stars are projectors" is probably my favorite modest mouse song. i also have "lonesome crowded west" and "this is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about". i plan on getting the rest of the modest mouse collection. me like them very much.

Genesis - Not only is it a live CD, it's a live DVD. It's kickass and only $15 at Best Buy last I checked. I hope Santa got the hint and got me my own copy...
As for best albums: Butch Walker's Letters U2's Hot To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb Velvet Revolver's Contraband Brian Desveaux's Alive Today Alter Bridge's One Day Remains John Mayer's AS/IS Butch Walker's This Is Me Justified And Stripped... Brian Desveaux's Acoustic Live Set I think that's all the new CDs I got this year, and they're all damn good...
"1000 words" is not new by any means. It's been played as an interlude to "'cuz you're gone" for at least 4-5 years now. It is absolutely beautiful, and on the live album, it kicks "cuz you're gone" into gear.
There is an "x-rated" version that has been online for a long time as well. I'm glad that they played on July 4th though because this is clearly better quality. Oh, and the live cd/dvd is from the monsoooon July 4th show the Goos played in Buffalo. It is awesome and stupendous and would definitely be in my top 10 if it didn't happen to come out so late in the year. The Goo Goo Dolls are my favorite band ever, ever, ever, and the live release (with dvd! yay!) was something I've only been waiting for for years. And as for straylight run, what the hell is "too emo"? And as for modest mouse, A+ for those of you rocking "the moon and antarctica" because i love that album muchly.
butch walker number 1=P
anyways for the comment of straylight runs album being emo, i believe they are an emo band, (members of taking back sunday) so....if they are suppose to be emo, and the album is emo, then i feel theyve done a good job.... btw i think its a great album.... NINE DAYS!!
