I have to ask..

which Firehouse song? (please don't say "Love of a Lifetime")

I wouldn't consider most of your list a guilty pleasure. Most "guilty pleasure" music I think is stuff you listen to, but wouldn't readily admit to anyone.

My guilty pleasures? My biggest one is widely known but I have others.

80's hair metal (Poison, Warrant, Cinderella, LA Guns, Extreme, etc)

TESLA! (who is NOT 80's metal)

Candlebox

101.9 (smooth jazz--sometimes its absolutely necessary)

1010wins (all news all the time, give us 22 minutes, well give you the world)

older Madonna stuff

Simon and Garfunkel..

more to come.

Oh please, I have no guilty pleasures. You all know I like crappy pop music. I openly admit it. LOL.

i've been pondering this and the only thing i can come up with is tripside. sometimes they just get into my head and i can't help it. i know they suck in just about every way possible, but after involuntarily seeing them 9000 times...

also, i'd like to take this oppotunity to out my roomates. i didn't know about it until after we moved in together. they have a secret backstreet boy love. there are far too many bsb videos in my apartment.

I don't have the album which has that firehouse song, I just have the first one with "dont treat me bad" on it.

My friends have the newer ones.

Interesting tidbit.

My friend thought he found a "hidden" Firehouse album--scooped it up--there was only one!!

After the purchase, he opened it, popped it in..and realized there is something really wrong.

It wasn't an album by Firehouse.

It was an album by Firehose.

Classic.

I don't know about the music, but if I ever see Katie Melua playing on TV I more often than not find myself falling into the nearest chair and staring at the tellybox somewhat overcome by a hypnotic lust.

Friends will attempt to talk to me... and I will not hear them until she's no longer on screen. Its odd.

I think I might need to seek professional help.

I am deeply offended you consider Simon and Garfunkel a guilty pleasure.

Why?!

I feel guilty, she's musical, and seeing her sublime natural beauty on my TV is highly pleasureable.

Ha. I win.

heh, good topic...

Michelle Branch
John Mayer
Avril Lavigne
Barenaked Ladies
Heather Nova
Los Lonely Boys
Pete Murray
The Calling
Yellowcard
Jewel
Robbie Williams
Vanessa Carlton
Blue *giggles like a girl*
David Gray

Music for every mood!

i suppose barenaked ladies is a good guilty pleasure for me, as well. they're not necessarily a great band, but they are a hell of a lot of fun and one of the best live acts out there.

Heck yeah, I think they're great, "One week" although overplayed still does it for me, and shoebox is a great song! They have a lot of great songs...what are they doing these days? Their best song HAS to be "Brian Wilson (live)" can't say enough good things about that song.

well, they did put out an album last year called "everything for everyone"... i heard it's amusing... the first single from that "another postcard" was highly entertaining.

I wouldn't consider half of these guilty pleasures. What is one I will tell you is the backstreet boys. I can't help but sing along to a few of em like shape of my heart. Sad but true.

I used to have the Millenium CD and I was very obsessed with it. I liked Nsync too.

why are you all considering john mayer a guilty pleasure?! backstreet boys and nsync i understand. As for mine I'd have to say Jewel pre-"Intuition"
Re: Your guilty musical pleasures?
April 26, 2005 02:25PM
John Mayer is in no way a guilty pleasure. He can outplay, outwrite and outperform 99% of mainstream music at the moment. As for mine:

Jay Z
Usher
Pharrell
NERD
and to throw in some none rap/r&b; Dashboard Confessional
Re: Your guilty musical pleasures?

I don't consider Michelle Branch one either... 'cause she's an awesome performer and writes her stuff... though I guess she is pop, and pop seems to be considered bad.

BNL was supposed to shoot a pilot for Fox that was of the variety/sketch comedy genre. However, I believe Fox decided not to shoot it.

I don't really have any guilty pleasures. And what I mean by that is that I'm a fan of some people that others might consider a guilty pleasure, but **** it, I am who I am and I like what I like. And this is coming from someone who has four Vanilla Ice CDs.

Actually, I think I have more of the opposite of guilty pleasures: popular artists that I just can't seem to get into. They would include:
OutKast
Radiohead
Coldplay

I can't think of any others right now. I was thinking about adding Justin Timberlake and Usher to that list, since they seem to get a lot of praise, but think that had to do more with the fact that I'm not into their kind of music any more.

Wait, I lied, I do have one guilty pleasure: masturbation. Sorry, folks, but I need to come clean (tell me I didn't just type that).
