Last night Colleens high powered Red Wings were swept by seventh seeded Anaheim.
Tonight, my Islanders were disposed of by the Senators.
Now, both teams join the Rangers on the golf course........
Summer is finally here now that hockey ( locally ) is over.
WHO WANTS TO GO BOATING?
Hmmm, the Anaheim Angels beat the Yankees last October and went on to win the World Series (yes, the Yankees weren't the defending champions, but they're still the Yankees, and they were in the World Series the year before).
Now, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks stun North America by sweeping past last year's Stanley Cup champions, the Detroit Red Wings?
I'm not a baseball fan, nor a hockey fan, but I am a resident of Southern California, more importantly, Orange County. Now, we currently have the World Champions of basketball (NBA and WNBA, I believe) and baseball. Therefore, until further notice, Southern California rules! Haha, I've wanted to yell that out ever since my physics professor last semester was ridiculing the Angels, even after they had WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!! So take that, rest of the country!

i am soooo embarassed to be the big wings fan that i am.. i mean.. the least they could have done is not gotten swept... i've been made fun of all day today by all the leafs fans around here...
but hey.. we get to hit the golf course early this year!

Well, feel better, Red Wings fans! You weren't swept by any team; you were swept by a Southern California team! See the Mighty Ducks were simply inspired by their also-owned-by-Disney, across-the-freeway, total-surprise-to-kick-so-much-butt brothers, the Angels. Expect more surprises to come!

I will never be embarassed. I've been through this enough times before, it comes with being a die-hard fan of a team. For some reason people think it's so funny to give you crap about your team losing. It's not like you lost the game for them.
*sigh* Oh well, next year I guess...
taunting is all part of the fun of sports. I hate the Yankees but being a Met fan wouldnt' be have as much fun if the yankees didn't exist. It's all about the fun of competition.

Yeah, I know the taunting that is part of sports. That's why I feel a little less guilty dishing it out. My favorite sports team is the (brace yourselves) Los Angeles Clippers. Even the Simpsons made fun of the Clippers. That makes it part of society or something. And yet, every September, I make my prediction for NBA champions, and it's always the same: the championship comes back to LA :-P
