It always interests me, the little differences one takes for granted. "What do you MEAN you don't have Reese's?" "Biscuit? You put butter on a biscuit, man, you don't dunk it in tea." -Mike Go listen to my band. We're awesome. http://www.myspace.com/rosencrantzny weallgotwoodandnails
Oh Holy Life Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are the greatest things my tongue has ever tasted in all of its sweet tonguey existance. (You can get them here in VERY few places)
You put butter on biscuits?! I really, really hope your definition of 'biscuit' is very different to ours. ~ Sofi ~ "And so tomorrow there will be another number for the one who had a name."
Our biscuits are more like croissants. Your "biscuits" are actually "cookies."
And Hershey's used to be great. Then they sold the company and the chocolate's just been flakey and underwhelming. Cadbury does indeed own. -Mike Go listen to my band. We're awesome. http://www.myspace.com/rosencrantzny weallgotwoodandnails
Cookies are cookies. Biscuits are biscuits. Crackers are crackers. None are alike.
The latter are particularly good with butter, cheese, grapes and slices of apple... and wine someone has just whispered over my shoulder. Though I'm not a big wine fan so that one's up for debate. Post Edited (01-17-06 13:36)
Is the terminology different in different parts? Because I've regularly heard cookies referred to as biscuits by a number of Brits on another forum.

Biscuits are reasonably thin and crunchy. Cookies are generally slightly thicker and more buttery, and sometimes chewy. If they're the chewy ones, or just larger cookies, they're 'American Cookies'. If they contain chocolate chips, they are chocolate chip cookies regardless of chewiness and thickness, namely becuase 'chocolate chip biscuit' sounds ridiculous.

Cadbury is grand. I always love when Easter comes around and there's those purple bags of candy coated chocolate eggs. Those are the best ever. Those and the cream filled ones, also by Cadbury. Mmmmm.
Dove has some good stuff too. Has anyone tried those Hershey's Kissables? "It's not always rainbows and butterflies it's compromise that moves us along"
