Spreading the ND Word

Spreading the ND Word
January 31, 2006 11:38PM
Copied this from my blog, so that's why it seems written a bit 'blog'gish.

First lecture back at Uni today. It was taken by an American woman called Carole Burns. She seems nice, although we were all forced to partake in her American 'ways'. She asked me politely to read out loud four paragraphs of a newspaper feature she had chosen, which wasn't too bad. Then, though, she left the room and wanted everyone to learn the names of, and a few facts about, everyone else in the room so that we could tell her about everyone when we called her back in. I didn't mind having to speak about someone else, but I really didn't want to speak about myself. =/ I just said that I was Andrew and my favourite band was Nine Days. Well, someone else said that about me after I told them. And then she asked what they sounded like... so I got my phone out and played a track to the class. =) I don't think they appreciated it much, but there we are.

The Nine Days song was 'Lee Lee'. No one had a clue who Nine Days were, so hopefully now there's a chance they'll go and check them out. =)

Everone should spread the ND word and the John Hampson/Brian Deseaveux word. It could lead to a record deal and one of the fasting selling debut's like artic monkeys.

Or they could become mainsteam like Howie Day/David Grey.

Spread demos and email there music all over the internet, including sending it to record labels - There is someone out there who would sign them.
If you know anyone who works in the music industry manger/office staff etc.... give it to them.

I pronounce it 'dez-voo'. I used to pronounce it 'dez-eh-voo'

I'm likely still getting it wrong. At the moment I think it might actually be 'dez-vaow'...

The mind boggles.

At my uni there is a huge file sharing program, where anyone can share anything and download off others at network speeds. All the Nine Days stuff which is legal to share I have, and people are downloading it!
