Currently 'The Shins - New Slang', sad song, although many listed here would have to aggree with.

Globes and maps by Something Corporate especially. And Hallelujah by any artist, the line, 'I've seen your flag on the marble arch, and love is not a victory march'...gets me every time.

Ok, I never actually read this post before... The songs that make me get all emotional are ones that my ex would sing along with while they were on the radio.... it kinda sucks 'cause my friend made this mix CD around the time I was with him and every one of those songs is on it... and she still plays that CD.

Oh yeah, and Eleanor Rigby is grand. It's one of my favorite Beatles songs, of the ones I've heard, anyway. I've heard all the ones on the greatest hits CD. We used to play that song in pep band; it was great.
