Go sof! Cd's are the way to go. I was thinking about this last night and came to the conclusion that being able to get ahold of so much music really isn't good because if you download oodles of music then you can't get to know each of the albums you get and you really can't enjoy them as much.

The only songs I have on my computer are original compositions of mine or my band's. I will not give in to this horrid digital existence that is pressing itself upon me.
Down with mp3s, long live the album.
I liken the plight of me and my people to the Victorian-era writers doting on the more personal Romantic period but unable to convince the people around them that they're losing their humanity with each and every new mass-convenience thrust on them.

i would like to point out that probably 60% of my library is my cd's that i've put onto my computer, the other 40% is the assorted crap that i download

The only time I listen to music on here is when I move down to the basement where I have no stereo, and then only through headphones. Computer speakers are teh crap, especially on a laptop.

Which is all stuff that people have sent me, or I have uploaded in order to send to other people, demos of various bands or people I know, random tracks that are unavailable to buy or b-sides where I haven't been bothered to buy the single, or various songs that I've downloaded because I had no interest whatsoever in the band/artist but wanted the single song. And about half of it's bootlegs.

95% of my 3000 or so songs is from a hardcopy CD which i own.
i just like to have it all with me all the time. but i will never fully resort to digital
I have an mp3 player that I do that with simply because taking all my cd's on vacation gets more and more insane and i have to have it all with me. And mike, what you need to do is invest in a set of good computer speakers. I have an amazing set and just pop a cd into my computer to listen. It's a wonderful thing.

Yeah well.. I had about 40 GB on my computer.. But then I thought: "Hey, I'm only listening to Nine Days anyway, so why have all the other crap?" So I deleted it and now all I have is Nine Days and a few more songs  That's all I need..
Yeahh sometimes i want to do that, but theres other song that are amazing too and i just cant...but my medio is pretty much nine days

Is it just me or does this whole post seem like a warped sort of penis size bragging competition, only in the form of "media libraries"? That was the impression I got from the title, and reading it just increases that.
Anyways, my media library is 1021 songs, 3.4 days, 4.45 gb and thats only cause thats exactly what fits on my ipod. I don't have anything to compensate for. Oh and itunes keeps track of how many times you've listened to each song, so what I do is sort it by play counts and delete any that are falling substantially behind. Cleans up alot of that wasted space.
I win... although listing anything of the sort is crazy...
just know it fills a 250 GB hard drive and about 77GB on another one...... so someone do the math.. i think thats somewhere near 75,000 tracks. yes they are all mp3's... I just love music... and having extremely large amounts of it in one nice location...
I just have an excessively large cd collection.. *coughs*
and thats just music... you don't even wanna know what I have on the rest of my 780GB of Hard drive space
and just for the record... no.. I do not have an excessively large penis...
