Yeah, women are like shoes. You have an old pair that you just love. They're broken in just the way you like and they feel so comfortable that you just can't bare to part with them, even though you know you need a new pair.
Me though, I go around barefoot because I just can't afford a pair of shoes. Plus, I'm afraid they'll hurt...my feet...
I think I just have the wrong shaped feet.

You should probably steer clear of me then.
Me or any of my friends too for that matter. It's all we wear. And ironically enough my sandals are referred to as Jesus sandals on a daily basis. The things are so comfortable they could be labeled as holy.

A friend of mine has started walking every where barefoot, saying that shoes are a sign of Western oppresion. He has recently visited NZ where everyone apparently walks round barefoot...

Clothes are a sign of western oppression. I'm not some kind of naturist, but the need to wear covering clothes in this hot hot weather so as to avoid being oggled or manhandled is annoying as hell.
Anything over 25 degrees and who on earth wants to be wearing anything more than short shorts and the thinnest, floatiest top you could find?
