So I called the Maritime Museum
Apparently 'rain or shine' is a loose term
The entire thing festival music and all was cancelled because the national weather service predicted "severe weather patterns along the coast of long island"
Translation - the tornado in Massapequa the other day freaked everyone out and they weren't taking any chances

Just for rain? boooooo(N)!!!!!

a friend and i drove all the way out to west sayville... we got there early so we went to get food, came back and everyone was gone. it was quite disappointing
