But, if it was in a parking lot, they might have security cameras. Not that you could look at them, unless you know a guy.

Guy's a wanker. And also why I'd be nervous about getting a brand new car. I'm pretty confident in my own ability to keep it, it's everyone else I have absolutely no faith in.

My 10 year old Maxima also enables me to play the "You can try and cut me off here, man, but I don't give nearly as big a **** about what happens to my car as you will if we get into a scrape" card.

Once again my point is that you can get a fine serviceable vehicle that won't give you nearly the headache when some douchebag hits it in a parking lot. That's all. When you get a brand new car you know what you're getting into given how many assholes there are in the world.
