NEW GUITAR
Speak to me, babies.
I want a new guitar. I love my telecaster but want to add to my collection. No, I don't want to go Gibson, I want to stay Fender. I also want "different." Right now at the top of my list is the Fender Jaguar. Here's my question: Get the $600 Japanese one that features two humbuckers, or go with a $1300 American and then go to the trouble of replacing the humbuckers myself? -Mike Go listen to my band. YOU WHORE I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET ONE OF THOSE FOR MONTHS.
How did you get one? Isn't Upstate covered in ten feet of snow? -Mike Go listen to my band. We're awesome. http://www.myspace.com/rosencrantzny weallgotwoodandnails
Wii is amazing, I got one last week. I think it's luck in getting one, we happened to walk into a target that got 12ish by suprise. And why would you buy a more expensive item requiring alteration when there's a cheaper one with the option you want?

Well, when I was looking for a new guitar, I swore to myself I wasn't going to be cliche and get a Stratocaster. Yet, a deal came along and I got me one. I have to say I love it. I might have the stock pickups replaced (I would love to replace the bridge single w/ a humbucker...), but it works great. But if you're really into getting something "different" from fender, here's some that I have found (though I haven't played any of these):
Fender Toronado http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Toronado-GT-HH-Electric-Guitar?sku=511942 Reverse Strat (think Hendrix for right handers, sort of) http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-60s-Reverse-Special-Strat?sku=512595 Fender Mustang http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-65-Mustang-Reissue?sku=512763 and of course the Jaguar. Hope this helps! Let us know what you get.
I would go for a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster. It comes with vintage noiseless pickups and a nice translucent finish (as long as you get a color other than black).
I have both a Fender American Standard Strat and a Gibson Les Paul Standard and I end up playing my strat about 80% of the time. The Paul is a heavy guitar that I find a little harder to play. I can get the sweetest tones out of the strat.
I have a 52 Telecaster, a Highway Strat and a Toronado GT.
they all sound pretty good and it depends on the mood. of course the 52 is awsome and the highway is nice, but if you want "different" you should try the Toronado GT. go check it out somewhere. (besides the fact that it sounds good it also very very good looking) i must say, a Jaguar sounds very nice. did anyone here tried or owns a Jazzmaster?
My Tele is Mexican, yes. I love it to death and as far as I'm concerned it's a far, far better value than the American one. The Americans are just made by Mexicans in California, anyway.
