Slow Motion Life (part 2)- Speculation Thread
Yes, I am getting ahead of myself and the band. I am grateful for the new album, which I think is greatness. But every time Nine Days puts something out, I get it, and I begin to want even more. Despite seven albums, numerous bootlegs, and other non-album songs, I will always want more.
That said, what songs do you think will make it to Slow Motion Life (part 2), assuming that's the title and the band does release another album? Will it be songs we've heard before? Or, will it be completely new songs? What happened to "Good With Nothing More" or "I Want You To Remember"? Brian gave us "6am" not so long ago. Any chance we get a new version of that? ...after lots of thinking there is no good way to end this post. Hope everyone enjoys the music as much as I do.
i wondered who will open the subject here...
i hope to hear many new songs on the second part. other than that, i would really love to hear band versions of "Angels On Vacation", "Day By Day" and "Smile Again" (i don't know if in the 2nd part but i hope they will record it someday). i guess "Good With Nothing More" & "I Want You To Remember" are considered cause they are relatively new, and maybe "Absolutely Everything" (because i think they did it live in one of the last shows). But i don't worry, i'm love every ninedays song so i know the 2nd part will be good as well.
"When they played on Long Island last month, they played "Absolutely Everything" and John prefaced the song by saying it would be on part 2 of the album."
wow thats great news absolutely everything roooocks!!!! ------------------------------ "now shut up and listen to the music!" by John Hampson

# I Want You To Remember # Good With Nothing More # American Girl John's stuff: @ As Long As It Takes @ Different Dreams / Rest Of My Life (2 names for the same song...) @ Just Like That @ Nothing Better @ So Unfair @ The Best We'll Ever Be @ Welcome To (the beautiful you) @ Worse Than It Seems ...................................... {thanx alpo} Brian's Stuff: $ 6AM $ Absolutely Everything $ Angels On Vacation $ Arteries $ Day By Day $ Good News $ Smile Again $ Spotlights $ Subway Musician $ Where Are My Friends and of course, the notorious 1994 demos: * Nobody * Self Esteem * Tuesday Morning * Too Much Love great great stuff!, did i miss something??? Post Edited (02-28-07 10:11)
'worse than it seems' fit under john's stuff, which i think was one of the awesomest demos ever, i got my friends hooked to ninedays with that song, plus a lil help from 'so unfair (8trk)'
i don't mIND the way you love i don't mIND your taken of me i don't mIND your face above me, at 6am 'smile again' is also amazing
a question:
are "So Unfair" (non 8trk version), "Welcome To (the beautiful you)", "Nothing Better", "The Best We'll Ever Be" & "Worse Than It Seems" considered demos? they all sound, to me at least, a finished perfect mixed song ready to be a part of an album (or an ep or something)... maybe the actual question is "What makes a demo demo?" think about it...
I wonder if John or Brian could tell us whatever happened to "American Girl?"
It struck me today how awesome the acoustic version of "Good News" is. I'm not a huge fan of the full-electric version; don't get me wrong, it's a good song. It just seems to work better a bit more stripped-down. So imagine the 81st street version with some snazzy jazz piano and maybe even a little sax from Jeremy. Would that or would that not be badass?
