who do y'all think is teh best classic rock band??
i'm gonna have to go with The Velvet Underground
but it was a hard choice, i mean theres led zepp, lynyrd skynyrd, black sabbathy, santana, grateful dead, the jeff beck group, i could keep goin but i wanna here some of your suggestions!!

After watching "Hard Day's Night" (yes, there's a movie) in film studies, I'd have to say: The Beatles. They seemed pretty cool.

Beatles, Zeppelin, and pink floyd are realllllly close...but ill have to go with zeppelin and then floyd as a close close second

i completely forgot about the yardbirds, i think thay are better than led zepp, my dad was tellin me when he was a 17yr old they all thought led zepp sold out and stuff, my dad and his friends were all fans of the doors, grateful dead, the jeff beck group and stuff, he was sooo cool, actually he still is, this year he has seen incubus, nickelback, green day, santana, the la doors with me and hes goin to see matchbox twenty with me.
but led zepp are amazing but at the time they were pretty average

Definitely The Beatles. Even if you don't like them, you gotta respect what they did for music.

alot of people do LOTS for music and they never get recognized, i mean the beatles were phenomenal, but... so many other bands are too.

Where are all the 5o's bands. Come on! Some good stuff came from that era. And Even though it's not considered rock, you have to remember Big Band Music. You just can't compare to swing. (And they say clarinet's not a jazz instrument!)

Can't say I'm familiar with howlin' wolf, but yes, I do respect Bo Diddly. I understand what you're saying though. I don't like when people say that certain types of music suck or are crap or something, because it's all personal preference. Everything has its own merit in some way.
