cool, a technical question!
ok, here goes...
i pretty much play a Fender Telesonic all the time...i love that guitar...i have a few other Telecasters that i play occasionally, as well...Teles have been my main guitar for about 10 years...
i also have a few Gibson Les Pauls (most notably a red, '58 re-issue, thick neck!) that i love...i play that for the heavier sounds...
i have a '67 Fender Jazzmaster that i bought because i love Nirvana... i play that when i want to sound dirty and delicate all at once...same for the Fender Jaguar that i played on "Dirty Poet", "Leelee..." and others...
i did just buy a '67 Gibson SG that is like my new toy...thats all i play right now...i busted out my old Marshall JCM 800 50 watt head so i can sound like Angus Young (AC/DC)...its fun, baby...and LOUD...
i usually stick to my Peavey Classic 50 watt heads with a Peavey 4X12 cabinet...i know everyone uses Marshall cabs, but honestly, i like SO much bottom end on my guitar and you cannot get it from a Marshall (unless its on 10 and NOONE can play that loud unless you are in a studio or in Metallica)...the Peavey cabs just have more bottom...they're like the J-Lo of cabs!!!!
acoutics: a Martin D-35 is my main recording and acoustic performance guitar...i also use a thinline Guild Peregrine live (so does Charlie)...they sound so good through an amp! so, yes i do run the Guilds through a DI for the acoustic sound and through my amp to double up the sound and even dirty it up sometimes...
i dont use many effects, but i love the Morley switchless Wah, the Morley Q-Zone, Line 6 delay, MXR Phaser (think the beginning of "So Far Away"), the Ibanez TS9 and TS10 Tubscreamers for leads, occasionally a Boss Auto Wah ("Something Has Gone Wrong", "Sweeter Than"), and a volume pedal...
i sometime use funky tunings ("Brand New Me", "Devil You Know") and i use capos ALOT...
thanks!
