I fully expect to see "Better Place" on the country top 20 someday. It's as good a song as I have heard in quite a long time.

Very cool. You seem to really be on a roll these days with some cool new tunes. I would have to say that I like the original version of "Better Place" more though.

John,
How about part one and part two CDs like you originally planned for NineDays? Pick eight tracks (that are already finished) and put something out now and then you will still have five out of the next eight tracks ready to go for the second part.
Just hoping to buy some tunes from you soon... But I will wait as long as it takes.

One of the coolest things I have ever seen on youtube. Wow! I wonder what the guys from the band think? They must be quite flattered. Any comments John, Brian, Vinnie, Nick or Jeremy?

John,
With all due respect, if you have enough songs ready to go for a CD, I think you should just go ahead right now. You can then think of the new songs as the start of another album. Some of us are dying to buy your new stuff right now.
Does anyone else share my view on this? Three more songs to record and mix and then you go into the holiday season and then you are talking about a March

Hey Brian,
How about doing a cover version of the Dukes of Hazzard theme song!

Bri,
Better Place rocks! Really great stuff! Great hook! Country Top 40 material. Keep em' comin... Not as into Nashville Girls.

John, to be honest, I really think you should give it another shot in full voice. Fun song. I think the bass line stole the show for me. Take five minutes to lay down a full voice track and let it sit for a couple of days and then compare the two versions. I have a feeling the full voice version might grow on you. Just putting in my two cents because you asked.

I think "Will You Marry Me" is fantastic! Extremely catchy hook...."Whoa, oh, oh, oh, will you marry me." I highly recommend that you guys all check it out: http://www.myspace.com/briandesveaux
Way to go Brian!

Very cool John. Looking forward to it. I will buy the CD the very first day that it becomes available - just as I have done with every NineDays album since Monday Night Songs. Can't wait! I am assuming December by the time you actually have the actual CDs ready to go.

Sounds like too man opening bands for me. It will be one of those gigs where you have to sit through hours of other music to finally have Ninedays come on at around 11:00 or 11:30 at night.

This guy has about 100 songs on YouTube. Very talented guy. Check out some of his Billy Joel covers as well.

Thanks for the response John. I personally know what it's like to deal with creative differences in a band, so I totally respect your position. And I think it is very cool that you will be working closely with Jeremy on your next project.
That said, my angst about NineDays not "being on the same page" for further studio work right now relates more to my still keeping the dream al

Oh boy, here we go again...separate projects.
Slow Motion Life Part 2 will be 2009 at the earliest and more likely never created at all. That's too bad.
I wonder why John and Brian think they cannot work on their songs together with the band. Who says that NineDays "sound" cannot adapt to change?
Come on guys! Stick together!

Hey John and Brian, can you please give us an update on any plans for Part 2. Shooting for 2008 or 2009?
Just curious as some of us are hungry for new tunes... Thanks!
Rock on!

I am guessing one year from now (so April 2008) at the earliest...
Any other guesses out there?
And guys in the band, double your sales by offering a regular first class mail option. It costs about $1.20 to mail a disc in a nice padded envelope. And the padded envelopes can be purchased in bulk at a place like Quill.com for very little.
It's a real turn off to people to spend $4 on shippi

How did "Worth Fighting For" sound live? I'm just curious to know if they are able to capture the same intensity live that they do on the recording. If they can pull off that level of intensity, it must be quite a powerful song to hear and see live.
I have to hear John sing that "Finish what you say, don't throw it all away" line live that he belts out on the CD.

I hear you Shir. I think you'll find that tracks #3 & 4 (the one that we are talking about) probably inspire the strongest opinions one way or the other because those two tracks have the most unique song structures...love them or hate them, they have a far different style.
"Worth Fighing For" has a slow intensity build up that ends in a sacred place, and the "Just as Thr

I agree with most of your assessment, with the exception that I think "Worth Fighting For" is the best overall song on the new album. My second favorite is "New Shoes" though - it has grown on me a lot. It reminds me a little of "Mexico" from years ago. It has the same fun spirit of "Mexico" and it has become a crowd favorite like "Mexico" used to

I thought Prince kicked ass during the halftime show. And how about that sweet Foo Fighters cover!!
The best cover I have heard since hearing John Hampson sing "Everything Little Thing She Does is Magic."

Okay, so it's Webster Theater, not Webster Hall. That is the only thing I have learned so far. From the Webster web site, it looks like they are going to have four opening bands. Does ANYONE know ANYTHING about this gig?

I would go for a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster. It comes with vintage noiseless pickups and a nice translucent finish (as long as you get a color other than black).
I have both a Fender American Standard Strat and a Gibson Les Paul Standard and I end up playing my strat about 80% of the time. The Paul is a heavy guitar that I find a little harder to play. I can get the sweetest tones out o

Yes, Jeremy is quite brilliant on the sax.
It was probably the stupid Sony 550 people who convinced the band that to go pop/alternative mainstream, the sax wouldn't fit. LAME!

For the Saturday, Feb. 17 Webster Hall, Hartford, CT date:
What time does the band actually go on? General admission, or assigned seating? Opening band? Parking situation?
If anyone (including any band members) knows any of the above, please post. Thanks!
